Assist. Tina Podlogar, psychologist, young researcher
At UP IAM Slovene Centre for Suicide Research she participates in the implementation of current international and national research-intervention projects in the field of mental health and suicidal behaviour. She is a young researcher under the mentorship of Prof. Diego De Leo and a doctoral student at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.
In groups of adult participants with mental health problems and/or problems in the field of coping with stress she uses the MBCT approach (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy). She helps with organisation of Triple i in Suicidology conferences at the Centre each year. From the study year 2014/2015, she lectures Public-health interventions course at master’s programme of Biopsychology at UP FAMNIT. In the spring of 2015 she finished Practicum I of cognitive behavioural therapy programme. She is improving her competences by attending different local and international courses, seminars, conferences and workshops.
She began working in the field of research and prevention of suicidal behaviour as a student of psychology. She was working as a facilitator within the European project SEYLE, within which she was responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with adolescents in distress and their parents in order to support and guide them towards finding professional help. She was also participating in other research-intervention projects for preventing suicidal behaviour and strengthening mental health of youth. She is one of the authors of Do you understand (yourself)?!? (Slovenian: A (se) štekaš?!?) project, which was implemented in Slovenian high schools and primary schools.
As a young researcher she is preparing her doctoral dissertation.
